Meet your Chapter Director!
Liz Proffitt
I am originally from Lubbock, Texas, but was raised in a small town in Wyoming. I left Wyoming at the age of 20 and moved back to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, I earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration. It was also in Lubbock where I met my husband, Trent and we have been married now for 23 years. We have two children; our son Saxon who is currently 15 and learning to drive (yikes!) and our daughter Adyleigh who is currently 12 and keeps the family rolling with laughter.
Prior to living in beautiful, sunny New Mexico, we lived in Dallas, Texas for about 13 years. We have called Albuquerque home since 2015, and love the mountain scenery, the hiking, the snow skiing and the amazing sunsets. Over the years, I have worked in the hospital and physician practice setting. In both of those settings, I was employed as part of the company leadership team. I have also had experience functioning as a venture capitalist for a faith based, coaching startup company, which we later sold to a large church organization. I also have experience starting and running a nonprofit organization, and I currently serve on the board of directors for an organization that provides retreat weekends for women conquering cancer.
In addition, I also currently serve on the grant committee for a nonprofit organization that grants funding to other nonprofit's that serve women and children in the Albuquerque area. In 2022, I decided to start my own company, mentoring and coaching women to claim their power to step into their exceptional self. It is my passion to help women identify and embrace their innate wisdom and brilliance, so they may bring more of who they are into their work, their business, their life or whatever it is they are passionate about. Throughout my journey of employment, servant leadership and now entrepreneurial work, one thing I have come to know as a mother is that all of it can be a very lonely and tiring endeavor. I remember wishing that there was some way to collaborate with other working, and entrepreneurial mothers, so that we could support and love-on each other. And this is when I found MBS. I am so incredibly honored to be part of this community of working mothers and cannot wait to further support the women of New Mexico!
My favorite quote is “The moment you figure out what it is you are supposed to be doing, the sooner you are able to get about the business of doing that.” ~Oprah Winfrey
